People are Important to God

It rained all week. Similar to the last few weeks but instead of the rain just making it more humid and sucky it actually kept the temperature down. It was pretty nice. We dodged the rain pretty well too, so that was sweet.

Not too much happened this week. Zone conference happened. I got to see a bunch of old friends. I got to sit next to Elder Hafen and Elder Shepherd was also there. It was a super good conference and I learned a lot. A common theme was OYM. Opening our mouths and talking to everybody. Which honestly is something I have struggled with. But I learned a lot and I am going to try my hardest to get better at it. 

We met with Edward who is active but he got/is getting super busy for the summer so he was going to take the summer off and then come back in September. He was feeling stressed and overwhelmed, so we talked to him and told him that Church is the place to be for that kind of thing. Getting the sacrament gives me so much peace and comfort and gives a break from the world.

We did service for probably the last time for Kim. I was putting all the door knobs back on and I got to one door and it had a freaking metal door frame. That was pretty ridiculous. I was struggling super hard to get the plate on it and was slightly losing my mind. But I got it. 

We played more basketball Saturday. It was pretty fun, there were a whole bunch of people. I made a slight adjustment to my shot last week and it threw me off a bit. So anyone who has played basketball with me ever, knows that I don't jump very much when I shoot. But I fixed that. But I had no clue what arch to put on my shot so I just changed the arch about fifty different time. I think I have it figured out now and it's going to be better. 

Sunday was fun. We had a munch and mingle after church and the ward went hard with it. A ton a super good food. There was even some ribs. Everyone hung out for quite a while. It was fun. I hung out with little kids and youth the whole time. Pretty good party. 

We ended Sunday by going over to Simon's house. He was taking a nap and his parents ditched him so he made us some poutine. It was really good, naturally. We threw throwing knifes and hatchets for a bit. I figured out the knives a little bit. After, we hit golf balls into a big field of his behind his house. It was a fun night.

A sweet chapter I read was 1 Nephi 13. I really got a lot out of it especially verse 35:

For, behold, saith the Lamb: I will manifest myself unto thy seed, that they shall write many things which I shall minister unto them, which shall be plain and precious; and after thy seed shall be destroyed, and dwindle in unbelief, and also the seed of thy brethren, behold, these things shall be hid up, to come forth unto the Gentiles, by the gift and power of the Lamb.

I was just thinking about Nephi and how he knew that his whole seed would be destroyed but yet he still pushed to save as many people as he could. It just shows how important people are to God and that we need to be trying to bring as many of them closer to Christ.

Blessings That Come With the Celestial Kingdom

Yeah, it's still freaking hot, thanks for asking. It also rained all week. Which makes it humid and feel twice as hot. 

Monday night we hung out with the Zumbachs for dinner and beaver tails. Tatjana left for her mission. She looked really excited for it. She is going to be a great missionary. Her mom was telling us that Tat was talking to the people next to her on her flight into Utah about the gospel and they are interested in learning more and is sending her the contact info for the people. Pretty cool for her.

Tuesday One of the young Regimbol families(There are 4 Regimbols fams in the ward.) needed help painting their house. So we assisted with that. They kept telling us that it was pretty good. So you could say I am getting pretty darn good with paint. They also fed us shwarma. Which is super delicious. The youth activity for this week was a gardening service project at the church and we figured no one wanted to come so we got a basketball game going like two hours before the project so some kids would come. It was pretty fun. 

Wednesday we had district meeting. Elder Beddes just had us play catch phrase for like 30 minutes to help us practice teaching simply. It was super fun. Me and Tarter destroyed everybody. We got Chinese food after. Super good stuff. If you are ever in Wasaga Beach for some reason look up 98 Super Panda. We finally met with Meisha again! She and Alyssa were super busy with family and stuff like that but we finally got back over. We taught the plan of salvation which led to some good questions from Meisha. One of them, she was asking about people that live a good life and help the people they can and what not but didn't get baptized in our church for whatever reason. She was just wondering what happened to them. Which that led to talking to her about baptism and I think she will get there pretty soon. There are lots of blessings that come with the Celestial Kingdom but you have to get baptized to get them.

Thursday I can't remember what happened for the most part. But we had dinner at Darryl and Heather. We painted part of their house on Tuesday. They have three super cute kids so it is always super fun being over there. We played basketball after and it was pretty fun until the end when I stepped on Elder Tarter's foot trying to break his ankles and proceeded to roll my own ankle. My ankle is fine now. But it was super not fun.

Friday we met with the old RLDS guy. His name is Harry and he thinks the whole world is in apostasy again BUT Joseph Smith taught and said a bunch of times that this was the last dispensation. So we got him a super old Ensign article about Joseph Smith saying that this is the last dispensation. He is a super nice guy. I think he starting to get closer to our church. He has met with like 40 missionaries before us. 

Saturday, The Jones family invited us over for breakfast and their two sons took us fishing. We didn't catch anything but we got bit by mosquitoes so yeah. Hahaha. After that, we did service for a semi-active family that lives in an Earthship. If you don't know what that is you should google it cause it is super cool. (or if you're on a mission have someone else google it for you.) We stacked some wood for them. I really like stacking wood. It is pretty nice and satisfying. We played more basketball with the young men after. It was fun. 

Sunday. Church was good as always. I had a pretty cool experience with the sacrament. I was definitely able to feel the spirit so strongly that my sins had been forgiven. The sacrament and repentance are such a special opportunity we have and I love it so much.

I watched this video the other day and it very good. It is such an amazing event that happened. It has changed my life so much.

Fear Not To Do Good. Even When It's Way Too Hot.

So. It was hot all week. I think somewhere near 30C (86F). Which is way too hot. I was just about dying. Yesterday the Zumbachs had a party for Tatjanas mission and it was outside. I was just melting the whole time. 

Tuesday was weird. I was used to being at transfers and getting a new companion. It was weird just going back to regular stuff. We called a ton of formers and organized more area book stuff cause we were still kind of sick but we got a hold of a lot of people that haven't talked to missionaries for a really long time so that was good. One was an RLDS guy that has met with a ton of missionaries. I had been over before but Elder Tarter hadn't so we called him and set up an appointment. We went over Friday and he was still super old and stuck in his religion. He was asking Elder Tarter a lot of questions and wasn't really looking at me. And I was really tired so I might've fallen asleep for a bit but he never said anything so I don't think he noticed. hahaha. We are going to try to prepare a super awesome lesson for him and see what we can do. The RLDS church doesn't actually exist which is a pretty weird situation, he thinks the whole world is in another apostasy. 

Really not a whole lot happened. Our whole district didn't get transferred so that was a party. Elder Roundy was sitting next to me at district meeting and he was leaning back in a chair that was wood. And he broke the chair. It was absolutely hilarious. Everyone was dying. And naturally instead of helping him, I just took a bunch of pictures.  

Tatjana got set apart yesterday and we had a party. I was super fun. When she got set apart the spirit was super strong. She is going to be a really good missionary. It was really cool. 

Yeah I am in Owen Sound right now and everyone wants to leave for lunch. And they won't get off my back so I guess that is all. 

Cool Scripture this week is D&C 6:33-34: Fear not to do good, my sons, for whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow good ye shall also reap good for your reward. Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail.

Here are more pictures since I was so rushed earlier. Hudson and Nolan are the two little kids. The one that looks darker almost traded me his fidget spinner for my tag. We hiked the Grottos today. We walked through a bunch of trees and then opened up to a bunch of rock cliffs. It was pretty cool. The water was super clear.

Well everyone, I survived through the transfers. Elder Tarter and I are staying here for another transfer at least. This transfer will be my first time with a companion for longer than one transfer. Should be good. I don't have too much time this week cause of transfers and what not.
